Raspberry Patch Furniture, Antiques &
Crafts is a very unique craft shop in a log house that sits next to a hedgerow
with a wonderful wild raspberry patch the entire length of it. The raspberries
have been enjoyed by many students in the form of pies, tarts, and cobblers that
are served with coffee or tea during class breaks. Many of our crafts and
colors center on the beauty of nature.
Classes are taught in acrylic, oil, and mixed media techniques. Many finished projects are on display in the house to help you choose a project you might be interested in learning. Shop owner Ted Mitchell and his wife Joanne, Shop Teacher, are proud to show new students through the house when they come to classes. Classes are offered in decorative painting, stenciling, tin punch, pierced and cut lampshades, scherenschnitte, dried and silk flower arranging, sewing, quilting, wool roving, and many other beautiful crafts. Learn how to make floorcloths with Joanne’s unique method. Santa or snowmen are painted on old ironing boards, lap boards, blackboards, slates (red and gray in two sizes) and anything else that can be found to make a project interesting.
Classes are held on Monday Evenings from 5:30 to 8:30. A light supper and dessert is served at 6:30 and if you wish to stay beyond 8:30, there is an extra $2.50 charge for every hour that you are here. All of the students have fun and learn a lot about painting while working on their projects. Other classes can be arranged on alternative days or evenings for groups of 5 or more.
